Microsoft has caused much anxiety among the fans of open source software over the years-most recently with the safe boot for Windows Plan 8, for example–but this week seems to have been given a small gift instead.
Instead of banning apps with a license that is incompatible with itself, the way that Apple has been–the GNU General Public License is an example–Microsoft apparently chose instead to make special provision for open source software in the new upcoming report on h has revealed.
"You must also License terms conflicts with the standard license application, in any way, unless you enter your license maybe FOSS, contrary to the limitations set out in section 3 of that term, but only to the extent required by the FOSS that you use, read the" License "for customers" company agreement Windows app store developer.
"' FOSS ' means software which is licensed under the Open Source initiative approved license," added the agreement.
Earlier this year, on the contrary, Apple makes a strong statement when it is released open source VLC Media Player from the App store after use of the software UNDER the GNU General Public License was brought to attention.
